We are Congleton Pride - we organise Congleton's very own LGBTQ+ Pride every summer (the next one is coming up on Saturday 23 July 2022) plus a range of other projects and events around the year...
Our team chose to create Congleton Pride because we discovered that a lot of LGBTQ+ people in and around Congleton feel unsafe being themselves and expressing their sexual orientation / gender identity. Our hope has been to show everyone what the LGBTQ+ community is all about and give them a better understanding of it, in turn hopefully stopping any prejudice. We want all in Congleton to have Pride and feel safe here.
As well as our main Pride event we've been putting on a range of other things over the last three years, from Christmas and St. Patrick's Day parties to an online pandemic-safe pub quiz and our pride flag themed maze game Prideworld! We recently conducted a survey about Congleton's LGBTQ+ community.
