We are sorry to announce that Congleton PrideFest 2022 is now cancelled. We will be devoting all our efforts into making this year’s regular Congleton Pride event into the best it possibly can be.
Congleton Pride is pleased to announce its first festival-inspired family camping experience, to be held over the Easter bank holiday weekend in 2022. Attendees can choose to stay over each night in their tent, caravan, camper van etc. or they can go home each night. Those attending can also choose to come for the whole weekend or, if their diary doesn’t allow this, they can purchase day tickets for the days they can attend.
Taking the best of Congleton’s creative energy, lust for life and generosity of spirit, Congleton PrideFest is an event with a music stage, wandering performance artists, delicious local food, drink and other unexpected treats – all nestled in the Cheshire countryside in the grounds of Glebe Farm, Astbury in Congleton. With an inclusive atmosphere and varied family programme, PrideFest has a committed emphasis on sustainability, community, and diversity. It’s an event where everyone is welcome, including children (but please note that on the Friday and Sunday the entertainment after 8pm is ADULT-THEMED, so it is at your discretion if they are to be in the marquee at these times. Friendly dogs on leads are very welcome to join the event too.
Whole weekend tickets (3 days of amazing entertainment) are currently on offer for £50 – a saving of £15 – but they won’t last long. Single-day tickets for Friday, Saturday and Sunday have just been released!
About the Event
The campsite is conveniently located in the festival’s backstage area – guests may find themselves camping among the performers – and with fast-track entry to the entertainment tent, you’ll never miss any of the main stage action.
There’s a well-stocked all-day bar where you can also sample craft beers, cocktails and an exciting range of gin. Food is available throughout the day at our concession stands.
In the nearby farm, you have easy access to the wide array of shops – all preparing for your arrival with amazing offers from their selection of local produce, toys, gifts and many other goods. Kids can visit Glebe Farm’s animals! Come see the alpacas, donkeys and goats, and feed the chickens, ducks and geese! Spring is the best time for baby animals at the farm. The lambs and goat kids require regular bottle feeding. If you are really lucky, you may be able to help! In addition to the food available at PrideFest, there is also a café on-site, with a large variety of food available to meet your breakfast, lunch, tea or snack needs.
During the day, there’ll be family-friendly entertainment where kids can run wild wearing fancy dress and face paint, have their hair braided, try out their skills on our archery range or take a ride on a tractor and trailer. In the evening, adults can relax with comedy, cabaret, magic and music from our visiting performers and DJs, and imbibe a cocktail or beer by the fire pit whilst enjoying a weekend of top musical talent, fun and dancing.
The campsite caters for tents of all sizes, camper-vans, caravans and motorhomes, with a small number of hardstanding pitches with electric hook-up available. There are toilets, showers, waste disposal and fresh water facilities onsite.
Tickets including optional camping are on sale now. Places are going to be extremely limited at this boutique event, so buy your tickets early to avoid disappointment.
Introducing your acts
The performers and artists will be updated over the coming weeks so please check back regularly to find out more or sign up to our festival newsletter to keep in touch.
Current acts confirmed for the weekend include the not-to-be-missed, hilarious, award-winning “Crazy World of Avril Taylor”, including a unique ‘Cher and Tina Turner’. We are pleased to have Congleton Pride’s very own talented Drag Show with Stella Black and Fonda Dixx. Over the weekend we’re proud to present Matt Windsor, Manchester United’s resident Magician and pickpocket, with us to amaze and astound. We also have live performances from a local Saxophonist.
We are very excited to be launching “Congleton Pride’s Got Talent” on the Sunday. The winners of the event will be rewarded with a prime-time performance slots at Astbury’s May Day event on 21st May, Glebe Farms “Astonbury” in July, and the Congleton Pride main stage on the 23rd July. The show will be hosted by PrideFest’s co-ordinator from Mark’s Events, Mark, alongside a panel of four judges who will offer their critique after each performance. You, the audience, will play a huge role in the show as the fifth judge and be able to cast your votes alongside our panel in helping choose the winners.
Whilst reading this, if you know of any local talent, whether that be a singer, group, band, comedian, dancer, ventriloquist or impressionist, invite them to contact Mark on 07722 008421 or firstname.lastname@example.org, to get them booked in.
Throughout the weekend there will be plenty to keep the family busy, including Karaoke sessions, quizzes, TV show games hours and bingo – and it would be rude not to partake in the bar’s daily happy hours 5-7pm! The Feathery Folk will join us to put on their famous bird show, with owls and raptors to entertain the family.
On Easter Sunday there will be a family Easter Egg hunt around the farm, with all festival attendees able to decorate their own egg too. In the afternoon, Astbury St Mary’s church and the United Reformed Church will lead an informal Easter Family Service for all those who wish to attend.
We have a few brand-new tents available for hire over the weekend which will be set up in advance of your arrival. Priced at just £30 per person, call Mark Bailey for further information on 07722 008421.
