Congleton Pride is proud to be working with Congleton Museum to celebrate LGBT+ History Month. Come along on the 18th of February when we’ll be hosting a ‘takeover’ of the museum, to celebrate our diversity and inclusion with an exhibition open to all.
Historical materials have been provided by Body Positive, a Cheshire-based charity that focuses on sexual health and community awareness – and you’ll also see surprising exhibits that have been specially donated to the museum’s permanent collection.
Later in the day from 5:30pm we’ll be putting on a talk upstairs – with complimentary beverages and nibbles. It’ll be a more intimate experience of the exhibition and we’re announcing a special archive project titled ‘Our Story’. This will be run by Congleton Museum and Congleton Pride together, and for it we aim to collect stories and experiences to raise local awareness of the LGBTQIA+ community.
