Congleton Pride has attracted a number of local businesses to be sponsors in 2024-25. Several organisations have already committed their support, demonstrating their enthusiasm to be associated with a charity helping to drive equality and inclusion, as well as being part of a popular summertime town-centre event.
At a meeting at Radley & Co recently, Pride trustees and committee members met with local business leaders to discuss the available sponsorship packages. Opportunities were presented allowing businesses of all sizes to contribute meaningfully and show their support for inclusivity and equality in the community.
The Pear Hospitality Group (including the Lion & Swan, the Wheatsheaf, Pecks and the Bluebell) snapped up the top sponsorship package and will be featured on all Pride events and promotion for the next 12 months.
Other businesses followed suit, with Millie’s Vets, LOGURU, Kanga Health, Edit Development, Dress2mydoor and Stock at the Pavilion all showing their support.
The charity has also been successful in securing community grants from Cheshire East Council and the Margaret Williamson Memorial Fund.
Congleton Pride was established in 2018 for the town to understand, learn and celebrate equality, diversity and community. Since then, it’s gone from strength to strength, building up its membership and creating links with businesses, other charities and churches in the town. The free for everyone daytime event – this year on Saturday 20 July – is currently the major focus of the charity. In addition to the day itself, Congleton Pride creates safe spaces and provides support for the rainbow community, organising coffee afternoons, meals and trips, as well as fund raising events.
