On 11 February 2025, our town hall came alive with inspiration as mayors, civic leaders and Pride communities gathered for a special Pride History Month event.
Hosted by Kay Wesley – Mayor of Congleton , Congleton Pride, and Body Positive Cheshire & North Wales, this powerful evening brought together changemakers from across our region. The atmosphere was electric as community leaders shared their visions for creating more inclusive spaces for all. We were reminded of the crucial role that small-town Pride organisations play – providing vital support networks, safe spaces, and a strong voice for local LGBTQIA+ people.
One of the highlights was seeing each Pride group’s beautiful display showcasing their unique journeys. These visual stories reinforced how grassroots Pride events create meaningful, lasting change in our communities.
We left feeling inspired and energised, with new connections and ideas for how we can work together to build a more inclusive future for everyone. Thank you to all who participated and to our wonderful hosts for making this important event possible!
