Our Congleton Pride event is all about inclusion and we want everyone to have a fantastic day. Thank you for giving space and priority to visitors with access needs. Your kindness keeps Pride inclusive. We have taken steps to make this year’s Pride as accessible and inclusive as possible. Event layout
- There will be stalls in the Grand Hall with plenty of space between for wheelchairs.
- On the first floor of the Town Hall there will be arts and crafts in the Bridestones Suite and a quiet area in the Spencer Suite.
- To access the lift to go to the first floor, go through to the bar area just before the Great Hall doors and turn right.
- The Bridestones Suite and the main door of the Town Hall have push-button doors. The Grand Hall doors will remain open.
Seating
There will be plenty of chairs available in the Town Hall.
Information
- All signage will be at a suitable height for wheelchair users.
- Signage will be large print, on plain good-contrast background, with use of icons as well as words.
- The Pride Guide will be accessible in large print and will have clear, good contrast print and no busy backgrounds.

People
- Volunteers and marshals will be trained to support disabled visitors.
- We will encourage all Pride-goers to be considerate and prioritise those with access needs.
Toilets
There will be two accessible portable toilets near the bus station. There are two accessible toilets in the Town Hall. The nearest ‘Changing Places’ toilet is at Congleton Leisure Centre on Worrall St. (open to non-centre users).
Transport
Congleton Bus Services will be running as usual. All buses accommodate wheelchairs and dogs. There are disabled parking spots available as follows

There is a quiet space upstairs in the Town Hall Spencer Suite.

Dogs are welcome in the Town Hall.
Hidden disabilities – the Sunflower
Some people have disabilities that are not visible and wear a ‘Sunflower’ (badge or lanyard) to indicate this. Our Pride Marshals recognise this logo and will be ready to assist anyone who is wearing it.
